But the fabric I chose isn't very springy, so I made this floral fabric belt from a tutorial written by my friend Mary. If you make one and use quilting weight fabric like I did (Amy Butler's Lark collection), I definitely recommend adding a medium-weight interfacing.

To turn the blouse into a dress, I added 12 inches to the length and flared out the skirt slightly. Since the shirt pattern has a belt added in, I didn't worry about that, and just hemmed the bottom under instead of adding the waistband. I used a lightweight woven interfacing for the dress body. Oh, and I shortened the sleeves!

Here's the back. This demin-look jersey dress is so comfy, I could sleep in it!

This dress/belt combo is coming to Market with me, so please say "hi" if you see me! Linking up to Sew Modern Monday!
