"And The Lindsay Goes To . . ." (Quilt Market Recap)

Quilt Market has come and gone, and although you've probably seen posts all week, here is my contribution! I had the misfortune of getting sick in Kansas City, which I would not recommend to anyone. Although I still attended the show and met some great people, I had to skip out on a few meet-ups and take it easy.

Although the awards for best booth and such have already been given out by the Quilts, Inc. committee, I've decided to give a special award to some of my personal faves from the weekend.

And The Lindsay goes to . . .

Favorite Booth: Art Gallery fabrics stunned with this fabric wall, and took three awards! Make that four, counting "The Lindsay."

Art Gallery Fabrics

Favorite Accessory:
Echino dear with glasses equals brilliance. I desperately want this print on something I use every day.

Favorite Applique: This was my first time seeing quilt designer Kellie Wulfsohn's work, and it is some of the most adorable, original applique I've seen. Lots of great patterns for boys' rooms too.

New Patterns

Favorite Quilt Market Experience: Pushing others out of the way to get in line at Sample Spree. Discounted fabric brings out all kinds of sass.

Favorite Hometown Girl: Amy Butler and I are both from Columbus, Ohio. She is so sweet and talented (and tall)!

"I Wished We'd Met" Award: Though I didn't get to meet Lotta Jansdotter, I did console myself with this fat quarter bundle of her new line Bella, which you see below with the rest of my weekend fabric haul. When will I find time to sew all of this?? For now, I'll be looking in admiration.

Favorite Art Quilt: I didn't get the info on this quilt, but the texture is amazing and it looks just like an oil painting.

Favorite Kids' Clothing: I loved these little man shirts in Washi, sewn by the lovely Karen LePage.

Washi Booth

Favorite Quilt: Found at Tula Pink's booth, featuring her new fabric line "The Birds and The Bees." I admire the shape, the dimension, the quilting. This is such a stunner.

Favorite New Fabric Designer: Vanessa Christenson of V& Co. released her first line "Simply Color" with Moda and showed off some new patterns like the floral wall quilt and gathered tote bag.

Favorite Publisher: As soon I took the elevator up to the Quilt Market floor, I stumbled on this beautiful booth from C&T Publishing and Stash Books, with cover quilts on display from their new books We Love Color and Modern Patchwork. The Hat Shop hats looked so cute on display, though I refrained from trying any on.

Favorite Photo Op: Meeting Joel Dewberry, who insisted I pose in this pic with him. Why yes, that is an Heirloom bag!

Favorite Wearable Item: It's a two-way tie between this sleek and classic dress in Amy Butler fabric from her new "Cameo" line and the Partridge Family funk of this Robert Kaufman number.

Spicy Curry Cozy Couch Award: It has to go to Melody Miller's retro booth, with this flawless upholstered couch.

Favorite Quilt Market Friends: All of them! But here are those I got pics of. (Sorry, remember I was feeling kinda 'meh' all weekend?)

My roomie Sara and Mod Stitches beemate Jeni, just before Sara and I had to take off for the airport. Love these girls!
Market friends

Blog buds were everywhere, although I only got a few pics. Here's ElizabethLee and Sukie on their way back from a coffee run.

Sarah and I met at random in the elevator of our hotel. We had fun braving the lines at sample spree and getting a sneak peek at the booths before it all went down. She is lovely!
