Finished! My equalizer design (see original post) was part of the Jay McCarroll Habitat Challenge sponsored by the Modern Quilt Guild.

I quilted in large blocks and tried out fusible quilt batting for the first time. Overall, I was impressed with the fact that I didn't pin anything and the batting didn't shift during sewing. But it did take a couple of hours in front of the TV to iron the batting to the front and back pieces. Since I'm not huge into pin basting, I think I'm going to try out spray basting on my next quilt.

The back side is an upcycled sheet. I can't believe how perfectly this echoes the design on the front, and it was just hanging out in my stash. The binding is the same midnight blue that I chose for my front, and I finished by machine. I'm really loving this makeshift clothesline I rigged up in the backyard! It's going to make my next quilt photo shoot so much easier.
Any finishes for you this weekend? I'm linking up to Sew Modern Monday and Fabric Tuesday.
